HABC Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering

This qualification focuses on the importance of food safety in the catering and hospitality sectors and provides food handlers with the knowledge of how they can contribute to product safety. Before starting work for the first time, food handlers need to be aware of the hazards and controls associated with food in catering operations.

The Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering is a qualification intended for learners working in catering and those who are preparing to work in the industry.
Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food.
The subjects covered are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to ensure good practice and the production of safe food.
